Texas Meter & Device has been exporting
remanufactured electric watthour meters
and related metering equipment for more
than 60 years. During this period, TMD
has become one of the largest U.S. suppliers
of such equipment to the international
marketplace.

TMD-remanufactured electric meters are equivalent
to new meters and feature:
- Same warranty as new U.S.-made
meters
- N.I.S.T. traceable accuracy
- Conformance to A.N.S.I. (C-12)

- Computer generated "As Left" test
report for each meter

TMD is equipped to produce large
and diverse orders in a timely
fashion. Our remanufacturing facility
and test/calibration laboratory
feature state of the art computer controlled
test equipment. Our technical and
production personnel are among the most
experienced and knowledgeable in the industry.
We maintain a large inventory of meters
in single-phase and polyphase, A-base
and socket types.
TMD-remanufactured meters are used throughout
the U.S. and in many foreign countries.
We sell internationally, directly to our
customers and through established local
sales agents and distributors. Our meters
have also been used on numerous projects
which were financed by agencies of
the U.S. Government, such as U.S.-A.I.D.

Some international clients prefer to purchase
meters in "As Is, Working Condition"
and to remanufacture them locally in order
to take advantage of lower labor costs.
In these cases, we inspect the meters
to make certain they are complete and intact,
test insulation (hipot), and check
for open potential (ohm check) before
shipping the meters.
In addition to electric meters, TMD exports
new metering equipment, such as low
voltage and high voltage metering and
instrumentation transformers, meter
sockets, meter seals, test
switches and other equipment. TMD also
exports refurbished and used electrical
equipment, including equipment such
as reclosers and street lights.
